NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT MISSION
In India, salvaging its development and boosting the growth of demographic dividend is a challenge for its economy. The best remedy for this can be, encouraging the entrepreneurship development programs. Thanks to young entrepreneurs like Aman Mehndiratta, who are willing to bring such ideas in motion. For a developing country like India, where the ratio of demographic and employment opportunities is two is to one, people need to develop skills and start providing jobs instead of searching one. Recognizing the imperative need for skill development, National Skill Development Policy got formulated in 2009 but the new policy- National Skill Development and Entrepreneurship policy of 2015, supersedes the policy of 2009 which worked as the backbone of National Skill Development Mission.
It has been introduced to rapidly scale up skill development efforts in India, by creating an end-to-end, outcome-focused implementation framework, this aligns demands of the employers for a well-trained skilled workforce with aspirations of Indian citizens for sustainable livelihoods. The two goals of ‘National Skill Development Mission are, to meet employer’s needs of skills and to prepare workers for a decent livelihood basically, to meet the challenge of skilling at scale with speed, standard and sustainability. The Policy’s ultimate aim is to consider the skills development as the shared responsibility of government, employers and individual workers, with NGOs, community based organizations, private training organizations and other stakeholders who are playing a critical role in making it possible for the nation to become ‘developed’ rather being ‘developing’ and Aman Mehndiratta is one of those employers. Being an excellent entrepreneur, he has welcomed this policy warmly and pursuing its norms step by step to achieve its goal, ultimately helping the nation to develop for better. Aman has adopted this policy because it links skills development to improved employability and productivity to accelerate the inclusive growth in country. He is continuously promoting the skill strategy by specific efforts to promote entrepreneurship and create enough opportunities for skilled workforce.
